The Department of Transportation announced possible traffic delays next week between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday through Friday:
Kuhio Highway
• In Anahola between Hui Road (near Mile Point 15) and Ko‘olau Road (near Mile Point 20) for pavement resurfacing.
• North of Kilauea Town between Kilauea Road and Kalihiwai Road for guardrail repairs and shoulder lane maintenance. Temporary traffic signals have been installed and speed limits reduced at the intersection. Activation of the temporary four-way traffic signal is anticipated on Tuesday.
• In Anahola near the Pili Mai Ke Kai subdivision between Anahola Road and Kukuihale Road for intersection improvements and shoulder maintenance.
Kaumuali‘i Highway
• In Koloa approximately one mile east of Maluhia Road, near Mile Post 5.7, for shoulder lane improvements.
• In Lawa‘i east of the Piko Road intersection near Mile Post 9.8 both directions will be narrowed for permit work on the highway.
• In Lawa‘i west of the Koloa Road intersection near Mile Post 10.7. The speed limit has been reduced and travel lanes narrowed and shifted temporarily for shoulder work.
• In Kalaheo between Lauoho Road and Hokua Road near the Kalaheo Jelly Factory for drainage and shoulder lane improvements.
• In ‘Ele‘ele traffic signals at the Waialo Road intersection will be placed in a flashing mode for one week prior to its full activation to familiarize motorists.
Ma‘alo Road
• Ma‘alo Road for pavement resurfacing during the day.
Waialo Road
• Waialo Road for Kaua‘i County sewer system installations.
Mokulele Loop at
Lihu‘e Airport
• Mokulele Loop at Lihu‘e Airport for pavement repairs with single lane closures from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
