Conservative radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh is urging his listeners to get out and cross party lines and vote for Hillary Clinton in the upcoming primaries.
Rush despises and dislikes the Clintons but wants to keep chaos going within the Democratic Party.
If his conservative listeners listen to him and go and vote for Hillary it would possibly make Hillary the winner in a tight Democratic primary race. The conservatives believe if Hillary is the nominee John McCain will win the presidency. If Barack is the nominee McCain doesn’t stand a chance.
It would be a shame if the Clintons were to win the primary. The Clintons in one of their primary ads re-enact the final episode of the fictitious crime family the Sopranos. Hillary is “Carmella” and Bill is “Tony.”
I truly believe the Clintons to be real- life Sopranos and Barack Obama a blessing to America.
I believe Rush Limbaugh or the superdelegates will be the spoiler for the presidency of Barack Obama.

Many in Hawai‘i are lured into thinking our islands are laid-back and safe places to relax.
They might be shocked to know that today there are 77 sex offenders listed on Kaua‘i alone, not including the ones presently incarcerated who will be released into the community in the future, and not including those offenders who have not yet been caught.
Thanks to Megan’s Law, we now have the right to see information about local offenders on the Internet. For Hawai‘i the site is sexoffenders.hawaii.gov/index
The site can be searched by zip code, name or street.
Although street addresses are given for offenders listed on this site, as well as some work locations, unfortunately there are several addresses listed as “unknown” or “homeless” or simply “Kuhio Highway.”
In addition, at any moment, these offenders could move to a new address — maybe right next door.
There are hundreds of offenders on the other islands who can easily travel here, as well as 395 now incarcerated in Hawai‘i who will eventually blend back into our communities.
I don’t want to be an alarmist, but more importantly I do not want to have any more children violated.
Sadly, perhaps the best protection for our young people is to assume that everyone is an offender and act accordingly.

Who benefits from GMOs?
In response to the article “Taro at heart of hearing” (TGI, March 27), the root of SCR 206 repeatedly stressed the importance of funding the endless entry of lethal invasive species into our host culture as “actionable pests.”
It proposed an open dialogue of promoting agricultural expansion, increased public confidence in biotechnology, and offers that control of taro disease depends on taro security and purity research.
The urging of plant manipulation and a “more for less” syndrome protects new and modern crop varieties and their high expected yields.
This ignorance demoralizes the taro farmers’ private value of food production.
Who seeks to benefit from the intellectual property rights over crop varieties, isolated genes and reproduction input?
What about the roots? What percentage of taro farmers are of native Hawaiian ancestry?
What about giving back their land and water rights in clean healthy and uncontaminated condition?
What about their human interest? Where does each native Hawaiian taro farmer stand on the economic value of taro?
Beneath all of these verdicts, who should the taro farmers trust? The intelligence of the ancient Hawaiians in the Kumulipo embraces the farmer in relation to the root of the taro.
Landraces is a natural selection process over generations of cultivation. It remains to be seen whether legislation of any kind will be effective as a “sui generis” protecting the uniqueness of the taro.
But better late than never!

MMA events cause violence in youth
In response to an article in yesterday’s Sports section, “MMA returns for Kauai Cage Match VII”: Where’s the mentality of these promoters and co-sponsors? Don’t they know these types of events cause violence in our young generation?
The young generation watches this type of event and soon enough they want to take on the world. You see it in these teens/young adults everywhere you go these days.
How can the promoter claim the matches are good? What’s so good about seeing humans beating up on each other? In one of the events, a 40-year-old will be matched with a 20-year-old. They will fight until one of them taps out. In the process there will be lots of blood, bruises, grunts and pains.
It must take a cold person to promote this kind sport for money and pleasure.
First it was the chicken fights. Then came the dog fights. Now this. What’s next?

Why do we tolerate political mud-slinging?
It’s the people, you and I, who lose when candidates engage in negative campaigning.
We have so many needs and problems like war, the economy, fixing NAFTA, health, hunger, poverty, creating an environment where we can realize the human right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness that don’t get addressed when we are diverted by campaign mud-slinging.
Why do we tolerate it?
Why do we support or vote for a candidate that allows His or Her campaign, followers or advisers to do it?
Perhaps we, the press, and the candidates are all part of the problem?
If that is truly the case, then the question becomes: How can I do my part to change the process to a positive, beneficial one?
