Puhi Metals Recycling Center will be closed Saturday and Sunday and will reopen on Monday, Jan. 21.
During the closure, the operator of the facility will be conducting hauling operations involving a large amount of scrap metal that will be shipped to O‘ahu for recycling.
Hauling will begin at about 6 p.m. on Friday and 7 a.m. on Saturday and will run until 11 p.m. both nights. On Sunday, hauling will begin at 7 a.m. and is expected to end at 6 p.m. The route to be used includes the following streets: Puhi Road, Kaneka Street, Nuhou Road, Pikake Street and Nawiliwili Road.
Normal operating hours for the center are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays to Saturdays.
