Tito La Rosa, a Peruvian sound healer and world class musician, returns to the Kaua‘i for a concert at 7:30 p.m. at The Church of the Pacific in Princeville on Sunday. La Rosa will also offer the flower ceremony, a tradition of sound and flower blessing handed down to him from the elders of the Q’ero Nation of Peru. Special guest violinist Pauchi Sasaki will be accompanying La Rosa. In addition he will be offering a class on the healing powers of Andean instruments. All of these events raise awareness and proceeds for the Quechua people of Peru.

Christmas in the garden at the NTBG in Poipu
The National Tropical Botanical Garden presents its annual holiday craft fair, Christmas in the Garden, on the grounds of the Bill and Jean Lane Visitor Center at 4425 Lawa‘i Road across from Spouting Horn from 10:30 am to 3:30 p.m. Sunday.
Out of doors shopping is at its best with local crafters and vendors offering island gifts, and art.
Wander the display gardens around the visitor center and enjoy an array of food offerings from vendors.
Come early to get your best selection of baked goods, produce, live plants and cut flowers.
There will be a kids’ activity area with Uncle Mark and Russell da Rooster making an appearance. Visit the gift shop within the visitor center. Tour operations will be closed that day but you can check out future tours for your family and visiting friends.
There is no admission, but participants are asked to bring a canned item to donate.
Rotary Club of Hanalei Bay’s Black & White Ball
The premier fund-raising event of the North Shore, considered by many as the only formal event on all of Kaua‘i is this year’s “Moonlight over Hanalei Bay,” from 7 to 11 p.m. in the Princeville Hotel Ballroom, Saturday. It will include dinner, fine wine, champagne tasting, a silent auction and dancing to the Blond Boys.
The silent auction features a wide variety of items for almost every price. The wines and champagne served are also for sale by the bottle or case after the event and at below retail prices. The proceeds contribute to the community service projects the club performs.
In addition to having a wonderful evening you will have supported the many great causes of the Rotary Club of Hanalei Bay — from the construction of Hanalei Water Safety Building, local scholarships charities, feeding the hungry program to the worldwide eradication of polio. Mokihana Club fashion show December 8th
Fashion shaman Jan Bernard teams up with the Mokihana Club for a holiday fashion show and luncheon in the Marriott Kaua‘i Ballroom December 8th. Reservations should be made by tomorrow.
Enjoy music by Richard Beach, male and female models will hit the runway in one-of-a-kind clothing from France, Italy and Beverly Hills.
Bernard, who believes passionately in every woman’s unique beauty and style, will present fashions in a wide range of sizes, colors and designs. The show will also feature clothing by local fashionistas Magenta Billett and Ariel Bishop.
Growing Greens Nursery which will hold its annual sale of poinsettias, gift baskets and table-sized Norfolk Island pines at the event and will donate a percentage of the sales to Mokihana Club community projects.
Club projects have included pioneering for a public library, island beautification and health issues, supporting the arts with scholarships for local high-school students and providing nursing scholarships for students at KCC.
Donations to the YWCA’s Women’s Shelter will be accepted at the welcome desk. Doors open at 10:30 a.m. and the event will close at approximately 2 p.m.
