Titles for the five divisions of the Kaua‘i Soccer Association Seven-a-Side league will be on the line Sunday.
Games for the Under 8, Under 10, Under 12 and Girls Under 14 will start at noon with the Boys Under 14 starting at 2 p.m.
Opening the competition, the Westside Pride, a 2-1 winner over the Ha‘aheo Teenie Wahine, last Sunday, will be going up against the Ha’aheo Boys which handed the Westside Falcons a 4-0 defeat, Nov. 4.
Ha‘aheo TW opened its double-header Sunday with an earlier 6-0 win over High Maintenance, and with its split, finished No. 3 in the standings. The Westside Falcons also opened with a 6-0 win over the Kapa‘a Blaze before falling to the Ha’aheo Boys.
In the Under 10 division, the top-seeded Westside Falcons 10 will be going up against No. 3 Westside Falcons 9, also at noon.
The top-seeded team earned its berth on a 2-1 shootout win over the Kaua’i Sparks while the Westside Falcons 9 earned its berth by edging out the No. 2 Tunda Girls, 2-0.
The Westside Falcons hold to top seed in the Under 12 division and will battle the KSC-Blazing Angels for that division crown.
The Westside Falcons soared over the No. 5 Panthers 7-0 to earn its title berth while the Blazing Angels edged out a hard-fighting Hawaiian Heat 3-1 for its position. In the third U12 game last Sunday, the No. 3 Hawaiian Heat was a 2-1 winner over No. 4 Lihu’e Elements, that contest also being settled in a shootout.
Top-seeded Ha‘aheo Kaua‘i drew the bye last Sunday, but will go up against the GIFC-13 for the GU14 title. The GIFC-13, No. 3 in the standings, earned the title berth by edging the GIFC-14, 1-0.
Westside United, top seeded in the BU14 division, flew over the No. 4 Westside Falcons 11-1 to earn the right to meet No. 2 GIFC-Cougars for the BU14 title starting at 2 p.m.
The Cougars earned its position by getting past the No. 3 Eastside Galaxy, 4-2.
There is no charge to check out the competitive action at the North Vidinha soccer fields.
