Hats off to Tasha Daligcon and the Kaua‘i Pop Warner Association for another great cheer competition!
President Paul Pancho was at the door collecting tickets for the two full-house performances at Waimea, and the Kapa‘a coach discovered the Menehune athletic field had a great vantage point for keeping track of Kapa‘a Eagles who enjoyed Jojo’s Shave Ice between the competition.
J Robertson did a great job emcee-ing the event after Billy DeCosta called him up and “volunteered” him for the job … now, where was Billy?
Joyce Evens (she was at volleyball Saturday night) said this is a Waimea week since we go to volleyball Wednesday, football in Hanapepe, Friday, and cross country early Saturday in Waimea.
Therese Jasper had Caesar Salad on the menu at volleyball, Saturday, and that was something different … the dressing calls pretty loudly.
With all that excitement, coach Orlando Anaya had his Mokihana Aquatics time trials at the Kapa‘a pool — something that has not happened there for many years.
Hats off to Caroline Lum and all her tennis volunteers for doing such a great job with the Kaua‘i Fall Junior Open tennis tournament … even got a chance to tell a relative of Sidelines Kuraoka where the Starbucks was in Po‘ipu.
And even with all that excitement, Juan Lorenzo knew that Mr. Vegas was starting to put the Christmas lights up on his house in Lawai … mark your calendars for the Lights on Rice parade Dec. 7.
