Ralph Suniga was working real hard trying to get things squared away at the Farm Fair before getting to Hilo with the Kaua‘i High School football team. Ross Shimabukuro (he was at the opening of the KIF air riflery match) said he was going to stay home … this is the first time the football team couldn’t do the fair because of its pre-season schedule.
Soupbone Kashiwabara was full-on with work trying to get everything working before the gates opened, and yes, Laurie Ho was helping check in produce along with all the Farm Bureau people … Elizabeth Ito (still gotta go home, change clothes and come back) said wait a couple of more years, she’s going to submit all kinds of stuff. Roy Yamakawa was busy with the new configuration for the produce display … the tent is bigger, and William and Anita (she makes one good energy bar!) Kaneakua moved the Wal-Mart meetings to the fair at the Kaua‘i Bonsai display area.
Kelly Gooding looks like he’s going to camp at the fair this weekend, and Tamra Martin and Naomi Sparrowhawk (she pronounces it really neat) came all the way from Honolulu to help aunty Sue Keller … now, who’s the girl who is going to become famous? Just look for the one wearing ‘No autographs” shirt.
Of course, no fair is complete without seeing Bill Cowern who was out Thursday making sure everything was ship-shape for the opening. Shelly Paik was working to get the bicycle going for the KIUC booth, and Marc Valentin was back making sure everything came together for Kongland.
OK, time to go visit co ach Jon Kobayashi and the Menehune at Hanapepe Stadium!
