A festive class reunion was stretched over five days for 35 eager members of Kaua‘i High School’s Class of ‘57 earlier this month.
The reunion started with a gathering at Hanama‘ulu Café on the first day. The second day was devoted to golfing, bowling and touring of the Hindu Temple.
A trip to Koke‘e and a chance to watch the Starlighters filled the third day while a lu‘au at the Lihu‘e Neighborhood Center was the highlight of the fourth. The reunion wrapped up with a picnic at Lydgate Park.
Approximately 65 classmates and spouses attended the lu‘au and enjoyed the beautiful music provided by Uncle Herman Paleka and some of his students.
Classmates said the reunion resulted in many renewed friendship and many more memories being made.
Parting was difficult, the group agreed, but members happily made plans to meet again in 2009 when the class turns 70.
