Dateline NBC has changed the date of a program centered around the disappearance of the late John Elwin, a Kaua‘i resident who was found murdered in the Philippines in May.
The news broadcast will air Wednesday night about Elwin, who left Kaua‘i traveling with Hank Jacinto, 58, in spring.
Jacinto is incarcerated and is awaiting sentencing for stealing Elwin’s property and identity. His sentencing is scheduled for Aug. 29.
Jacinto was convicted of theft, identity theft and forgery, however, no charges in relation to Elwin’s death have been brought against him.
“Dateline NBC” is the second national program to feature the circumstances surrounding Elwin’s death. “America’s Most Wanted” also investigated the case, and will return to Hawai‘i to film Jacinto’s next court date.
