Looking for something more than a used book or old lamp someone puts out in their front yard for sale? The public is invited to visit the first annual “Not Just Your Average Garage Sale” on July 28, in Princeville.
Looking for something more than a used book or old lamp someone puts out in their front yard for sale?
The public is invited to visit the first annual “Not Just Your Average Garage Sale” on July 28, in Princeville.
According to a recent release, the members of the newly formed Zonta Club of Hanalei will be hosting this event between the hours of 8 a.m. and 3 p.m.
Members of the committee responsible for planning the event states in a release that they will be selective in the items it accepts for the sale and that not just any item will suffice.
“This is not just your average garage sale because we will be carefully screening all items that are donated. Just because someone contributes an item(s) doesn’t mean it will end up in the sale,” President Robin Savage-Thompson, states in the release. “Our fundraising committee will determine the suitability of each item. So if you have household items or clothing you’d like to donate to the event, please call Sheila at 645-0142. Donations will be accepted until July 27.”
Shoppers should mark their calendars for Saturday, July 28. That’s the day you can shop for everything from quality “gently used” clothing to functioning pre-owned appliances. As with many garage sales, the outstanding items are sure to go first so make sure you’re there right on time.
All proceeds from this event will help the Zonta Club of Hanalei raise operating funds so that the real work of community fund-raising and scholarships can progress.
Part of Zonta’s mission is to improve the legal, political, economic, educational and professional status of women.
The organization works for the advancement of understanding, goodwill and peace through a world fellowship of executives in business and the professions.
Zonta International is a global organization of nearly 33,000 members working together. In addition to the Zonta Club of Hanalei, there are more than 1,200 Zonta Clubs in 67 countries and geographic areas. Known as “Zontians,” members have committed hundreds of thousands of service hours and millions of dollars to a wide range of women-focused community service projects.
The Zonta Club of Hanalei began on April 1, 2007, and meets on the third Tuesday of each month at the Princeville Community Center.
Anyone interested in learning more about the organization and how you may participate, should contact President Robin Savage-Thompson at (808) 826 1396.
