Pat Baniaga said there was no need to explain “loco moco,” or “ice cake” to the Floridians — they already know.
In fact, Jonell Tafiti was passing out phone numbers to one of the Florida parents who was trying to coordinate a catering job for the Joe Grace roast pork.
The Sting teams are staying at the Aloha Kaua‘i Beach Resort until next Thursday, so if they can’t get the catering thing set up, they’ll be cruising by the lunchwagon by PS&D.
Shirley Pettrow said they’ve been collecting TGI issues from the previous tournaments, and somehow missed last year’s … anyone have extra copies?
Albert Soto (it wouldn’t be a tournament without him at his spot at the corner of the food booth) and Pat did a great job coordinating the event, and coach Teddy Perreira had the field in immaculate condition despite the Westside drought conditions.
Therese Jasper (she’s excited about Jett coming home to help at Na Koa golf tourney today!) and Jocelyn Awong made sure the Camper knew about the arrival of the Hawai‘i Superferry …much mahalo for the phone calls! The big question is when did it come in on Thursday?
The Superferry arrival was good enough reason to check out the Junior Lifeguards who were going through their paces at Kalapaki, and a swing up to the Kaua‘i Veterans Center where Sherry Sanchez Holcomb had another full Excel! Dance Studio camp.
OK, ‘nuff said…gotta go check out coach June Jones, UH AD Herman Fraizer, and the logowear supplier Ed Fountain for some heads-up on the fall season.
