Fall is coming fast — Kaua‘i High School prepares parents and students

Two events this week will help parents and guardians prepare for the up-coming school year. For more information contact The Parent-Community Networking Center at 274-3176.

Kaua‘i High School

9th grade

orientation meeting

Help make your teen’s transition to high school less challenging. Come to the 9th Grade Orientation Meeting on Monday, July 23, at 6:30 p.m. in our school cafeteria. This will be an informal meeting, a perfect time to interact with members of our school community, ask questions and gather helpful information to help your child prepare for life at Kaua‘i High School before school begins. Light refreshments will be served and there will also be door prizes to help get ready for the new school year.

Fee payment and

schedule pick-up

In preparation for the 2007-2008 school year, Kaua‘i High School will be having Fee Payments & Class Schedule Pick-up for their students, one day only on:

Tuesday, July 24

7 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. to

7 p.m. at the main school office & campus

Parking is available in marked stalls on campus and on the grassy lawn area west of the bus shelter.

Students will be able to make payments for mandatory fees (student government and class dues), athletic booklets, yearbooks and to lunch accounts at the main school office. Outstanding obligation charges may also be paid during this time.

Once payments have been made, class schedules will be distributed, enabling students to familiarize themselves with class locations prior to the first day of school. For parents/guardians who took advantage of the Early Fee Collection period at the end of last school year, a list has been given to our registrar, so you may bypass going to the payment area and instead go directly to pick up your child(ren)’s class schedule(s).

School uniform pick-up

Uniforms ordered at the end of last school year will be distributed on Monday, July 23 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and again on Tuesday, July 24, from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. If you have any questions regarding school wear, please contact School Activities Coordinator Dorothy Hoe at 274-3179.

Members of PAIRS-PTSA (Partners In support of Raider Students-PTSA), our supporters’ organization, will be available to share information about how parents, guardians and community persons can become members of this very worthwhile organization.

Classes begin

School begins for Grade 9 students on Monday, July 30 at a Freshman Orientation Day. Classes for all students, Grades 9 to 12, commences on Tuesday, July 31.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to call our main school office at 274-3160 or 274-3161 from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on weekdays.
