At least two Kaua‘i teams will be going to bat when the Kaua‘i Fantasy (softball) Tournament opens Thursday in Waimea.
Kapa‘a will be fielding a team in the 16 and 18 Under division, and Darrell Borrero will have his Central girls playing in the 14 Under division.
Pat Baniaga, one of the tournament leaders, said there is a strong possibility the Waimea High School team will be playing in this tournament as well.
Games will be played at the Waimea Canyon Park starting Thursday and running through Saturday.
The championship game is scheduled to start at 4:30 p.m. Saturday. The championship game for the 14 Under division is scheduled to start at 3 p.m.
First game on Thursday will feature Central Florida taking on No Ao followed by a matchup against Kamikaze. First pitch goes off at 9 a.m.
Borrero’s Central girls take the field for the first time starting at noon against Kupaa followed by a matchup against Kapolei.
Teams competing in the 16 and 18 Under division include Central Florida, Central Florida 2, Kalahelepakewai, Kapolei, Kapa‘a, Kamikaze, No Ao, and Kalahelepakewai B.
Teams playing in the 14 Under division include Central, Kupaa and Kapolei.
Keiki motorcycle event Sunday

Young motorcycle and ATV riders and bicyclists are invited to the appreciation day event this Sunday at 10 a.m.
The Combined Off-Road Riders of Kaua‘i will be hosting a free Keiki Fun Run for riders 15 and under for dirt bikes and ATVs. There will also be a Bicycle Poker Run for all ages.
Signs will mark the way to the event on the makai side just south of Anahola.

UH tickets for football, volleyball on sale

Season tickets for the University of Hawai‘i 2007 football and women’s volleyball seasons went on sale starting yesterday.
According to a press release from the University of Hawai‘i, fans can purchase season tickets via HawaiiAthletics.com, or by calling 944-2697.
Tickets can also be purchased by visiting the Stan Sheriff Center Box Office, Mondays through Fridays from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. The box office is closed on holidays.
UH’s ticket system allows season-ticket holders to transfer individual game tickets via e-mail to other parties, and put unused tickets back into the system for resale.
