John Beralas and Kaleo Cummings finished with 10 points each to preserve the Kalepa Hillsiders’ lead in the Kaua‘i Youth Basketball Association league Tuesday night.
Kalepa took a 45-33 win over the Southwest Boyz A team.
This was a far more comfortable margin than their win over the Southwest Boyz B team last Thursday when Kalepa coach Peter Rayno was getting nervous when Braxton Garma pulled the B team into the lead in the final 23 seconds.
Aric Cansino nailed a bomb from outside the three-point arc to clinch the Kalepa win by two points in the final ticks of the contest.
Tyrus Ceria-Lux finished with 11 points to lead the A team performance at the Kalaheo Neighborhood Center, Tuesday.
Earlier, Matt Lindsey posted a game-high 13 points to lead Wailua to a 56-30 showing over the Southwest Boyz B team who got 7 points from Garma in the effort.
