Actors Branscombe Richmond and Dan Haggerty will be the emcees when the Sons of Hawai‘i Motorcycle Club along with Kaua‘i Harley-Davidson roll out “Operation Military Appreciation” Sunday.
Described as a ‘fun-filled charity event with special give-aways and prizes, the event will be held at the Grove Farm Park in Puhi, located behind the Kaua‘i Harley-Davidson shop. Proceeds from the day-long event will to to benefit the family readiness units of Kaua‘i units serving overseas.
The groups include Na Ohana Ki‘ai o Kaua‘i (Air National Guard Family Readiness), Kaua‘i Navy Family Readiness, C-Troop 299th CAV RSTA (Kaua‘i Army National Guard Family Readiness), and the Kaua‘i Veterans Council.
Things unfold with registration starting at 9 a.m. Registration qualifies people for special prizes that will be distributed throughout the day
Good Morning Hawai‘i will be televising the motorcycle ride to Waimea that will roll out starting at 10 a.m. and scheduled to return to the Puhi site at 11:45 a.m.
That will open up the formal portion of the program that is scheduled to run from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m.
Throughout the day, people are invited to enjoy the live music featuring the Papa‘a Bay Boys, Swampdaddy and Kai Roots.
Food booths, a variety of water and jump-around inflatables, motorcycle biker games, a motorcycle swap meet and a Ride-in Bike Show offer something for everyone.
The event is supported by the Vietnam Vets/Legacy M/C, the Sons of Kaua‘i, Alii M/C, and Koa Puna M/C.
