Sharon was looking forward to the annual fishing contest coming up tomorrow, and Doug said there’re some good prizes, so bring your fishing gear and bait, keiki — and, don’t forget dad!
Kathy Muneno Thompson discovered that you need more time to get to the airport after the morning news show on KHON-TV. But she made it on time for the release of the nene goslings and even had time to chat with Warren Haruki. Great job to all concerned!
Michael Tresler was looking ahead to today’s K-PAL football games … say ‘hi’ to Mark Ozaki. He’s the one on the golf cart making sure all the game clocks are synched. Don’t forget to check out the Kamehameha Day parade, too. It starts from the same parking lot.
Hats off to Katie Miyashiro and her Warabi Ashibi committee on another great event! Soupbone Kashiwabara and John Iwamoto were helping with the cooking for the lu‘au, and Gary Ueunten was doing the rubbish run after everything was wrapped up.
Roy Miyashiro was there and Arnold Fujii was still trying to go the other way from the camera. Gerald and Mia Ako were able to squeeze in the lu‘au on their lunch hour and mahalo to Bernie Sakoda for pointing out the goya chumpuru, one of the authentic Okinawa dishes in the buffet.
Happy Father’s Day, Kaua‘i!
