If you’re looking for something special, ask Fely or Neil Sams about the “Witches Brew” fountain they have set up at Orchid Alley. If you go during school hours, you might even meet Deedee Gorospe who says that’s her “play job.” Her real job is a bus driver. Orchid Alley is right next to Pizzetta (mo’ betta).
Nellie Okamoto stopped by the sidewalk en route to joining other Kapa‘a High School staffers who were celebrating a late Secretary’s Day with Joan Kealalio. Too bad coach Mits Yokotake is all the way up in Kilauea … otherwise, it would really be mo’ betta!
Annette Hashimoto is in Australia, but never fear since her younger sister is filling in for her … sister was at rehearsal for “Hats Off to Broadway” which plays Saturday at the Convention Hall.
Hats off to all the winners of the Kaua‘i Museum 47th Annual Student Art Festival winners! Kalei Cadaoas, Dale Rosenfeld and Carol Lovell did a great job making the students feel important. Even Kenny Ishii (anyone tried the pork chops and eggs on the breakfast menu at Ono Family Restaurant) was there since Lukas was a winner in the photography class.
And, of course since Lynn Muramoto and Family Flower Farms are in the midst of the Mother’s Day orchid sale, Lynn said the Lawai International Center’s annual Pilgrimage of Compassion takes place May 19. They’ve been doing that trip up the hill every year since 9-11.
OK, ‘nuff said … gotta go listen to Anahola Joel Pahukula to see how Hank Ibia’s Red Raiders are doing at states.
