Wow! Just two homeruns in the entire KIF baseball season … congratulations to Jonathan Gebauer who joined Aaron Soong for the honors.

Hats off to coach Destry Carvalho and the Kapa‘a Warriors on a great season! “Coach” Glenn Mickens was able to get his testimony in for the big box hearings and still make it to the game on time.

Council member Shaylene Iseri-Carvalho wanted to go, but had to take care of business in the council chambers. There were so many people who came out to that meeting, Peter Nakamura had to have his staff set up a television monitor so everyone could follow what was taking place inside the chambers.

Now that the school year is rapidly winding down, make sure you take time to check out KCC art instructor Kyungsoo Lee’s students’ artwork at the KCC Library … you will be impressed!

And you can even bid on some of Maxine Akita’s pieces. Joe Vegas (he makes those Joe Cool wood pens) took time out to check out some of the artwork as did Wayne Miyata. Outside, Calvin Shirai was trying to catch up with Brian Yamamoto, and if there wasn’t that impending council meeting, it was a nice day for visiting Jolynne Uyesono and her staff at the bookstore. But the new pens will have to wait until next time.
