Borrero introduces new coaches
Kaua‘i High School’s head football coach Derek Borrero introduced his varsity and new junior varsity coaching staff at a parents meeting last night at the high school cafeteria. Jon Takamura was introduced as the new junior varsity head coach.
Borrero also discussed the 2.0 grade point average requirement, the importance of practices and his plan to keep the “run and shoot” offense.
“I’m not here to fix what’s not broken. I’m not here to change the play book,” he said.
He also did not shy away from talking about former head coach Keli‘i Morgado.
“I know this meeting is not for this,” he said. “I’m still losing sleep over this. It’s a tough thing. But we have to move on.”
