KAPA‘A — Shannon Sitzler scored two goals on Friday and added two more on Sunday as the Wave Riders, playing in the Mites division, came back from a 5-5 tie Friday night to edge the Fireballs 3-1 on Sunday.
Issac Lewis added a goal in Sunday’s win while Tyler Lewis had the sole score for the Fireballs.
Isaac Lakotas joined Sitzler for two goals in the Friday night stalemate with Joshua Lakotas rounded out the Wave Riders’ effort, Sterling Carfare getting an assist.
Tyler Lewis shot three goals in the final two minutes to pull the Fireballs into contention. Tyler’s first goal at the 2:00 mark was followed a minute later by his second shot, and the final net came with just 33 ticks remaining on the clock.
Prisma Verzosa and Sevi Pemberton added goals for the Fireballs Friday night.
Natalie Lewis, goalie for the Fireballs, was 7-of-12 in saves Friday while Marissa Aceret, tending for the Wave Riders, was 8-of-13.
Joshua Lakotas tended goal for the Wave Riders on Sunday, finishing 13-of-14 while Aceret was 18-of-21.
The Sharks and Dragons split their series with the Sharks besting the Dragons 4-2 Friday only to drop a 4-3 edge Sunday in Squirt division play.
Robin Bihm netted three goals in the Friday win while Gavin Bryan led the Dragons’ effort with a goal and an assist.
Bryan took the lead Sunday with two goals with Tyler Lewis and Verzosa adding a goal each in the win.
Chanel Tremblay paced the Sharks’ effort with a goal and an assist followed by Aceret netting two scores.
Joshua Lakotas, tending for the Sharks, was 17-of-19 Friday and 11-of-15 on Sunday.
Tomas Sanchez, goalie for the Dragons, was 21-of-25 Friday and 17-of-20 Sunday.
The Devils, playing in the Bantam division, were able to edge Green 8-6 Friday, but finished in a 4-4 stalemate against the Whoppers Sunday.
Austin Taylor led the Devils Friday with three goals followed by Kawai Peahu’s pair and one from Brandon Taylor. Jacob Lewis got an assist Friday.
Christian Perdue led the Green effort with a pair of goals followed by Sierra Mayer finishing with a goal and three assists. Stephanie Steuri had an assist and Jean-Luc Tremblay ended with two goals and an assist.

Trevor McCracken finished with two goals and a pair of assists for the Whoppers. Corey Nemeth and Lyle Nemeth each added goals in the effort.

Kiana Tremblay, goalkeeping for both the Green and the Whoppers, was 39-of-47 for the Green and 42-of-46 for the Whoppers.

Kaua‘i YMCA Inline Hockey Association games are played Friday evenings starting at 6 p.m. and Sunday afternoons starting at 1 p.m. at the Kapa‘a hockey rink.
