The Kaua‘i Police Department arrested the man who allegedly started the fire that destroyed a home on Apopo Road Saturday.

Extinguishing the blaze took 11 firefighters nearly two hours Saturday night.
The damage done to the four-bedroom wooden house and its contents, is worth an estimated $560,000, said county spokeswoman Mary Daubert.
According to a preliminary report, the fire originated in a bedroom on the backside of the house.
Witnesses told police they saw a man leaving the residence prior to the fire being reported.
No one was injured in the fire.
