The Kauai Chinese Heritage Society will celebrate the 2007 Chinese New Year of the Boar March 3 at the Hilton Kauai Beach Resort’s Jasmine Ballroom.
The evening of entertainment will give guests an opportunity to experience the Chinese culture through food, a traditional lion dance featuring two Beijing lions, costumes and dances of the provinces of China.
The Phoenix Dance Chamber of Honolulu will present dances of China and representatives from the Qi Center in Lihu‘e will demonstrate health building through Qi Gong exercises.
Dinner tables will be decorated with silken boars and tasseled medallions that can be taken home.
No-host cocktails begin at 5:30 p.m., the lion dance at 6:30 p.m., a seven-course, traditional Chinese buffet dinner at 7 p.m., followed by the special program.
