A round-robin tennis tournament will celebrate the grand opening of The Club at Hanalei Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m.
The deadline to register for the tournament is 6 p.m. tomorrow. The cost is $20, or $40 per team. Play will include divisions 6.0 to 8.0, and possibly 8.5.
The Club is the North Shore’s largest tennis facility with eight courts and a fully stocked pro shop.
“Our desire above all else is to bring a solid tennis program to the North Shore with state-of-the-art training aids, multiple high-end ball machines, digital video lesson recording on the spot, a complete children’s program and great court quality,” Karlos deTreaux, one of two co-owners, said in a press release.
The Club is now open and providing weekly men’s, women’s and mixed clinics, as well as lessons for juniors and keiki.
Advanced ball machine rentals and private lessons by tennis pro and co-owner Ryan “Koko” Chang are also available.
During the celebration, prizes, raffles and lunch will be offered as well as trophy plaques for the winning teams in each division.
Everything in the pro shop will be on sale this weekend, and special membership rates will be available during the two-day event, deTreaux said.
Entry blanks are available at any tennis facility, or by calling the club during business hours. For more information, call 826-6522 (ext. 8) or 826-4211 in the evening.
