Kekaha Elementary School had its Science Fair last month to showcase student projects from kindergarten through sixth grade. Students were able to pick their own topic of interests and complete a board and booklet to show evidence that they learned the scientific process, which is exactly what real scientists go through to carry out experiments.
Students in kindergarten through the second grade completed class projects. Students in third and fourth grades worked on group and partner projects. Fifth- and sixth-graders did individual projects.
During the winter intercession, the computer lab was made available for students to finish up their project booklets. Students received participation ribbons and certificates for their efforts. Many parents and community members enjoyed the informal showcase of projects on display.
