Tomorrow The Rotary Club of West Kaua‘i presents “Poet Robert Burns Supper 2007,” a celebration of Burns’ uplifting poetry with Celtic bagpipes and Drums of Hawai‘i.
The catered dinner by Contemporary Flavors benefits scholarships for Waimea High School Culinary Arts Program. Readings of Burns’ poetry and musical performances at Waimea Plantation Cottages will highlight his writing that spoke of cultural tolerance, brotherhood and unity.
The night will include performances by the doo wop group RB Express of New Jersey, as well as a Celtic string quartet by the Alii Strings.
