The Friends of the Library for the State of Hawai‘i chose the North Shore Library’s interim manager Jennifer Relacion over dozens of nominees as the winner of the Excellence in Service Award.
According to a press release from the Friends of the North Shore Library, Relacion was the lone Kaua‘i recipient among the three honorees. She will be recognized at a reception on Nov. 30 in Honolulu.
“Our members supported her candidacy by writing letters of commendation,” FNSL president Barbara Smith said in a statement.
Relacion was also recognized last month by the Hawaii State Public Library with a Sustained Superior Performance Award for 2006. A Princeville Library employee since July, 1999, Jennifer has held several positions there, most recently as the interim librarian, a position she has held since January.
