Lenny Rapozo may have had his Ha‘aheo team on a bye, but came to watch daughter Machaela score a pair of goals at the New Kapa‘a Beach Park. Actually, Lenny had his whole ‘ohana on hand for the event. Coach Bobby Rapozo helped on the GIFC-Po‘okela bench, but it was coach Cindy Crain’s BTU that ended up with the win.
It was a nice day in Kapa‘a and the Brian Yamamoto family was there to watch the game … was nice to see coach Dan Agan out there, too … even had a chance to chit-chat between games.
Over at the Kapa‘a rink, Jaime Pablo handled the officiating instead of goal-keeping, and Kirsten McCracken was part of the Red team (good to see Todd Mayer again). Kirsten was part of the KIF cross country race Saturday, too.
Dane Oda (was nice to see son Darren, too) just came back from Las Vegas and said everybody’s reunions should be there … needless to say, it was fun … still waiting for Randy Harker to come home.
Halloween is right around the corner, and if you have old eyeglasses lying around (mine are hanging on by a thread), Lion Paul Steinfort said the Kaua‘i High School Leo Club will have a collection on Halloween … stay tuned for drop box locations. And for those on the North Shore, the North Shore Lions are also collecting.
Once you’re done with the United Way Walk-a-thon Saturday, it’s a good idea to head out and visit Dr. Liela Nitta and her ‘Ele‘ele School staff (Donna Fuji, Leighton Kabutan and others) at the annual Book Sale and Craft Fair … it’s going to be a blast!
