Marlene Blair is a happy camper!
She was at the Friendship House’s Annual Employers Recognition Dinner when she found out the Cardinals beat the Mets 3-1. Marlene’s son, Chad Blair, is the video coordinator for the Cardinals, so now the World Series takes on a whole new perspective for her.
Hats off to Dave Jordan and Katie Vercelli of Friendship House for hosting this great event … Layne Shigeta, Debi Matsumoto and Laurel Brier (the buses don’t run that late in the night, so she drove) of the Vocational Rehabilitation agency were there and what a treat to hear the Friendship House band provide the evening entertainment.
Just up the hill, Ron Wiley was doing a great job emcee-ing the TGI council candidates forum … yes, it was carried live on KQNG.
Terese Jasper was on hand for the Wednesday volleyball game and is excited about the Kaua‘i High homecoming next week. She’ll have “spirit sticks” available for people who sign up for e-script with Macy’s and Safeway, or sign up to become a PAIRS/PTSA member … looks like Vidinha Stadium will be rocking.
Paul Pancho was also at the game, trying to figure out whether or not the rained out games are going to be played. Speaking of rain, Sharon Gibson of the Nawiliwili Yacht Club just came back from her Mainland trip (class reunion … Randy Harker and Tom and April Shigemoto are having theirs as this is being written) so she totally missed the earthquake, but not the rain that is expected this weekend.
So stay dry when you visit the Cub Scouts at their Cub-O-Ree at Kukui Grove.
