The Kauai County Council candidates’ forum originally scheduled for tomorrow has been rescheduled to Oct. 19 at the Veteran’s Center in Lihu‘e.
All candidates for the County Council election should have received their invitations to the event hosted by The Garden Island. The forum is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m., Oct. 19 and will have a “Town Hall” format to accommodate the large number of candidates — 14 — in the race for the seven open seats.
So far the candidates who have confirmed attendance are: George Anderson, JoAnne Yukimura, Tim Bynum, Billy DeCosta, Shaylene Iseri-Carvalho, K.C. Lum, Mel Rapozo and Ming Fang.
Doors will open at 6 p.m. with pupus and refreshments provided for all.
KONG radio has tentatively agreed to broadcast the forum while requests to Ho‘ike television over the last two weeks in an attempt to have the event televised have not garnered a response.
Anyone interested in taping the event for future broadcast is asked to contact Editor Adam Harju at aharju@kauaipubco.com or call 245-3681 ext. 227.
