Ka Haku O Hawaii Bridge Club wrap-up

The Ka Haku O Hawaii Bridge Club meets the second and fourth Monday of every month at the Hanalei Bay Resort. Play begins at 9 a.m. sharp. At the May 22 Howell Movement game, the team of Steve Angelone and Connie Copenhaver tied for first with John and Joyce Ielmini, who were visiting from Oregon. Jane Nearing Go and Glenda Lewis placed third.

The Poalua and North Shore Bridge Clubs meet every Thursday at Sun Village behind Wilcox Hospital in Lihu‘e at 9 a.m. sharp. This is the oldest bridge club on the island, and visitors are always welcome to play. To find a partner or for additional information, call Jane Nearing Go at 826-9753 or Betty Moore at 245-1994. Last Thursday’s game was a Howell Movement and the winners were: Jane Nearing Go and Sheila Honeywell in first; Pat Burgess and Loukas Fytros in second; and Dick Shen and Dotty Nakea in third.

The Sunrise Duplicate Bridge Club plays each Thursday at the Church of the Pacific Hall in Princeville promptly at 9 a.m., rain or shine. The club welcomes North Shore visitors and part time vacationers. For playing partners or information, call Lolita Horney at 826-6805. At last Thursday’s four-table, 16-player event, Glenda Lewis and Ilse Rothschild took first and Bill and Betty Carroll finished second.

The Sunset Duplicate Bridge Club plays each Saturday at the Church of the Pacific Hall in Princeville promptly at 1 p.m. This established club is convenient and conducts friendly and competitive play for all island players. At Saturday’s 24-player, six-table event, Judy Smith and Glenda Lewis took first place, with Hank Goldstein and Lolita Horney finishing second.
