New public-service hours at the Kapa‘a Public Library are effective Thursday, officials with the Hawaii State Public Library Service said in a press release.
The changes are designed to allow maximum use of the library. Thursday evening hours will be eliminated in favor of daytime hours.
Opening Thursday morning will allow librarians to accommodate increasing numbers of customers who wish to use the library in the mornings.
The library remains open every Tuesday from noon to 8 p.m.
The new hours follow:
• Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.;
• Tuesday, noon to 8 p.m.
The library is closed Saturday and Sunday.
The Kapa‘a Public Library opened on March 12, 1955. The 6,600-square-foot library is located at 1464 Kuhio Hwy., next to Kapa‘a Beach Park.
