Posiedonia Borrero Reese died Dec. 8, 2005, at her home in Vallejo, Calif., after a two-year battle with cancer, at the age of 60.
Born on Jan. 17, 1945, she was a native of Kaua’i, but lived in Vallejo for five years.
She was the office manager for various offices, most recently Central Self-Storage in Vallejo.
She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Bobby Reese of Vallejo; daughters: Lord Messeret of Napa, Calif.; Nicole Brown of Concord, Calif.; sons: Kenny Reese of Hayward, Calif., and James Reese of Spanaway, Calif.; sisters: Sylvia Troche and Matilda Yaris of Kaua’i; brothers: Rudy Borrero of Washington, Peter Borrero Jr.
of Kaua’i, and Raymond Borrero of Culver City, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Family members and friends may call on Friday, April 14, at Borthwick Kauai Mortuary Chapel in Koloa from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Inurnment will be private.
Arrangements are being handled by professionals at Borthwick Kauai Mortuary.
Lucy Vales Pacheco
Lucy Vales Pacheco of ‘Oma’o died at home on April 10, 2006, at the age of 87.
Born in ‘Oma’o on Jan. 30, 1919, she was a homemaker.
Preceded in death by husband, Sandalio Pacheco; son, Sandy J. Pacheco; daughters, Jeanette Pacheco and Mary Ellen Ulii, she is survived by son, Gerald (Veronica) Pacheco of ‘Oma’o; daughter, Joyce (David) Okinaka of Kaua’i; 16 grandchildren; 28 greatgrandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, William (Laura) Vales of Pearl City, O’ahu, and Henry (Dora) Vales of Vaccaville, Calif.; two sisters, Emily (Martin) Toledo of Lawa’i and Virginia Torres of ‘Oma’o; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family from 9 to 10 a.m. on Saturday, Apr.
15, at the Garden Island Mortuary Chapel. Service officiated by Pastor Kilborn will begin at 10 a.m.
followed by burial at the Koloa Church cemetery. Casual attire is suggested.

Barnie Kamekona Char
Barnie Kamekona Char Sr. of Waimea died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on April 6, 2006, at the age of 83.
Born in Waimea on Jan. 24, 1923, he retired as fire captain with the Kauai Fire Department and was also a long-time taro farmer.
Preceded in death by his parents, Shui Ja Jen and Rebecca Makuaole, he is survived by his wife Puanani Mabel Char of Waimea, three sons; Russell (Marilyn) Char of Po’ipu, Rawlins (Mila) Char of Kekaha, Barnie (Joy Grindley) Char Jr. of Hau’ula, five daughters; Jackie (Mark) Gray of Utah, Eula Mae (Tama) Taala of Waimea, Apryle Wong of Laie, Sue Ann Char (Mark Texeira) of Hanapepe, Cheryle Anne (Daniel) Woolsey of Colorado, one sister, Matilda Gonsalves of Honolulu, one brother, Wilson (Thelma) Aana of Waimea, 29 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held on Saturday, April 15, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints — Kekaha Ward with visitation from 11 a.m. and services beginning at 1 p.m. Burial will follow at Kauai Veterans Cemetery in Hanapepe.
The staff of Kauai Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home assisted family with arrangements.
