The 2nd Annual Lihu’e Spring Festival, hosted by the Lihu’e Pop Warner Association, runs from April 28-30 at Isenberg Park.
The proceeds generated from the fundraiser will be used towards LPWA’s operating budget.
“We are hoping to lower registration fees, purchase safety equipment for both tackle and cheer, and acquire much needed food booth equipment and supplies,” LPWA president Gracie Grace said.
Lihu’e Pop Warner made history this past season by being the first organization in the nation to drug test its volunteer staff.
“Because LPWA has a zero tolerance on drug use, we will once again implement our drug testing policy on all board members, coaches, and staff members,” Grace said.
She also mentioned that they will mandate that all of their coaches be CPR/First Aid certified.
“These ‘tests’ cost money and we are hoping to offset these costs through our Spring Festival and not from our registration fees,” Grace said.
