Sadamu Nakagawa
Sadamu Nakagawa of Lihu’e died at Garden Isle Healthcare on Mar. 7, 2006, at the age of 95.
Born in Kealia on Jan. 7, 1911, he was an electrician with Citizens Utilities.
He is survived by two sons, Gary (Susan) Nakagawa of Las Vegas, Nev., and Edwin (Claire) Nakagawa of Pearl City, O’ahu; daughter, Violet Doi of Lihu’e, six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Takeo (Lily) Nakagawa and Yutaka (Jane) Nakagawa, both of Honolulu, O’ahu; two sisters, Fusako Murai of Honolulu, O’ahu, and Mitsuko Leigh of Nebraska; numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Mar. 14, at the Lihue Hongwanji Mission; service officiated by Rev. Midori Kondo will begin at 5 p.m.
The family suggests casual attire and reaquests that flowers be omitted.
Arrangements are being handled by Garden Island Mortuary.
James Kahauanu-oalika Haluapo
James Kahauanuoalika Haluapo of Kapa’a died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on Feb. 26, 2006, at the age of 69.
Born in Ahukini, on Sept. 1, 1936, he was a handicap hire craftsman with Kamaka Ukulele.
He is survived by four brothers, Samuel Haluapo of Washington, David (Barbara) Haluapo of Washington, Edward (Marilyn) Keoho Sr. of Kapa’a and Clifford (Dannette) Lee Sr. of Kapa’a; three sisters, Hattie (James) Telles of Hanama’ulu, Elizabeth Makalapua Haluapo of ‘Oma’o, and Kathy (Matthew) Louis of ‘Oma’o; numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 18, at the Lihue First Church; service officiated by Kahu Gaylord Williams will begin at 11 a.m. followed by burial at the Lihue Cemetery in Pua Loke. Casual attire is suggested.

Frank Rita
Frank Rita of Kalaheo died at home of lung disease on March 8, 2006, at the age of 85.
Born on June 20, 1920, he was a retired Fire Chief of the Kauai Fire Department.
He is survived by his wife, Miriam Gomes Rita; daughters Linda (Wayne) Pieratt, and Susan Neuvel; one son, David F. Rita, all of Kalaheo; grandchildren: Wendy (William) Castillo of Kalaheo; Kristy (Richard Love) Pieratt of Dana Point, Calif., Melissa Neuvel and Kimberly Neuvel of Kalaheo, Michael Neuvel of Charlotte, N.C., and David F. Rita Jr of Kalaheo; great-grandsons Joshua and Aaron Castillo, and Kaleb Neuvel, all of Kalaheo; sisters Elizabeth “Bella” Marques of Lawai, Helen Rauch of Newark, Calif. and Minnie Freitas of Kalaheo, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Family and friends may call on Monday, March 13, at Holy Cross Church in Kalaheo from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. where Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Burial to follow at Kauai Veterans Cemetery in Hanapepe.
