Girl Scout Sunday is nearly here
The Rev. Midori Kondo of the Lihue Hongwanji Mission said that a Girl Scout Sunday service is March 12 at 9 a.m. at the mission temple on Kuhio Highway in Kapaia.
She is the speaker at the family dharma service, which includes birthday Sunday and dharma class.
All interested should also pick up their registration forms for the Nembutsu seminar and retreat with the Rev. Marvin Harada of the Orange County Buddhist Church.
“What is Shin Buddhism to Me in the 21st Century?” is the theme of his talk.
The seminar will take place at the Lihue Hongwanji Mission Friday through Sunday, April 14 to 16, with a registration deadline of March 25.
The cost is $25.
On Thursday is the Founder’s Memorial Day Service, with chanting shoshinge at 4:30 p.m., and a brief talk on tannisho at 5 p.m.
“Let’s all welcome the Shinran,” Kondo said.
