A town-hall meeting on the nonprofit sector is set for Friday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Kauai Humane Society headquarters building on Kaumuali‘i Highway outside Puhi, organizers said in a press release.
Those interested in building a network of nonprofit leaders, becoming a leader in the state nonprofit community, giving voice to the issues and constituents, and articulating your vision for the nonprofit sector, are welcome to attend.
Food will be served.
Leaders of the Hawai‘i Alliance of Nonprofit Organizations (HANO) are hosting the meeting.

There are many issues affecting nonprofits in the state, such as funding, impending regulation, budget cuts, leadership changes, escalating premiums for workers’ compensation and health insurance, training and technology needs, and more, organizers said.
This town-hall meeting is an opportunity for leaders of Kaua‘i nonprofit groups to come together, address these issues, and generate solutions.
Participants are also encouraged to attend the national Nonprofit Congress. This national gathering will be held in October in Washington, D.C., where Hawai‘i’s representatives will join with other state leaders to create a public-policy platform for the sector.
