Punahou faces all three KIF teams

The KIF girls basketball regular season doesn’t get under way until over a month from now, but all three KIF teams will get a good taste of preseason action, especially with Punahou coming to town.

The BuffnBlu will start off their Kaua’i invasion with a game against the Red Raiders on Thursday, starting at 7 p.m.

Then on Friday, Punahou makes a turn up east to the Bernice Hundley Gymnasium for a 7 p.m. battle against the Warriors.

The Menehune will get a shot at the BuffnBlu on Friday at 7 p.m. at the Clem Gomes Gymnasium.

The KIF girls basketball regular season begins on March 28, with Kapa’a hosting the Menehune.

The JV contest starts the festivities off at 5:30 p.m. The varsity game commences 20 minutes after the completion of the JV competition.

The two-time defending KIF champion Red Raider squad opens up 2006 play on March 31 against the Warriors.

The HHSAA Girls State Basketball Championships run from May 16-20 at a site to be determined on O’ahu.
