Surf video flies to Pine Trees this weekend

The surf video, “On the Fly,” which was produced here on Kaua‘i, will be flying its way to Hanalei this weekend, in its debut to the general public.

The official documentation of the 2004-05 surf season entailed homegrown filming, editing, interviews, and lots of kokua (help) from friends, family, and local businesses.

The film encompasses a full flavor of exciting board action to delight your viewing pleasure, which includes Bruce Irons’ winning wave in the Eddie Aikau Big Wave Invitational, Kalani Vierra, Turk Cazimero, and comedian Augie T.

Last year’s NSSA national competition is also featured in the film, with Hawai‘i taking away 10 of 11 first-place trophies.

Cazimero, the “Hawaiian Hurricane,” serves as both host and emcee of the video, which grabs 40 minutes of high flying action to the table at Pine Trees in Hanalei this weekend, where the seventh NSSA contest will take place.

Video sponsors and helpers include Nalu Underground magazine, Curt Smith, Joel Guy, Dylan Melamed, Linda Pizzitola, Jamba Juice, Verizon Wireless, and more.
