Leaders of the West Kauai Business & Professional Association announced in a press release the annual tribute to Scottish poet Robert Burns, the Burns Supper, is Saturday beginning at 5 p.m. at Waimea Plantation Cottages.
The gathering, complete with multicultural entertainment and dinner catered by professionals at Contemporary Flavors Inc., is a fund-raiser for the Kaua‘i Community College culinary-arts program, and Rotary scholarship programs.
The event begins with no-host cocktails at 5 p.m., followed by a procession through the palms of the traditional pipes and drums starting at 5:45 p.m., featuring the Celtic Pipes & Drums of Hawaii and the Pipes & Drums of the Atlantic Watch. Other entertainment includes the Alii Strings, Taiko Kauai, and special hula performances.
