Do we really need a do-nothing film commission?
Do we have a Kaua’i Film Commission? Do we need to ask when the last film or production was made here? The last two commissioners rank in the league of Mike Brown, the former director of FEMA. Hey, maybe he is available. At least we would get some press coverage.
This is beyond embarrassing, because it continues to fossilize a once-vibrant and important industry on Kaua’i, which made it world-famous. Shame on you. Why don’t we get someone competent in there, who is connected and knows what he/she is doing?
One candidate I could suggest: Eve Hands, Paradise Production Studios, Kapa’a, 808 346 7799.
Just one resident’s opinion.
P.S. Perhaps if the commissioner was paid on commission (get it) he/she might actually be motivated to actually do something if she/he knew how? The current one at least should be made to return his salary for non-performance.
