KAUA‘I AND HAWAI‘I BY THE NUMBERS
- Kaua‘i’s gas prices shot up another 3 cents per gallon over last week’s survey with more increases looming, according to gasoline observer Martin Rice, who regularly surveys prices at gasoline stations.
Rice introduced a new category this week to his listings — diesel price monitoring. Diesel, which used to be considered a cheaper alternative is now more expensive than premium.
The average price of regular unleaded gasoline on Kaua‘i as of the end of last week was $2.84 a gallon for regular unleaded; $3.05 a gallon for premium and $3.09 a gallon for diesel. Information courtesy of Rice.
FYI, oil prices hit an intraday record of $66 per barrel Thursday before settling at $65.80.
