Three points
1 – Traffic delays: Have the County buy the Princeville Airport from the new owners of the Princeville Resort, and allow flights to and from other islands. This would cut down on the motor vehicle traffic to and from the North shore and the Lihu‘e airport. I hear there is a Council member working for the new owners of the Princeville Resort. I bet he could get the County a good deal. Everyone I know on the North and East Shores thinks this is a good idea. Who would oppose it?
2 – GMOs: The GMO-Free Kauai group showed the film “Future of Foods” at the Kapa‘a library Tuesday night. Blake, the mediator, said he supported a referendum for the next election that gives residents the right to vote to ban GMO field tests on Kaua’i. But he said his group might not support it. He needs about 8,000 signatures to get it on the ballot. The film really made a good case against GMO foods. So did Blake. I say his group should support either support the petition or change their name to “Just Pretending GMO-Free Kauai”
3 – Affordable Housing: Have the Council pass a law that says only residents can own a home on Kaua‘i.
