It’s the basketball clinic you need to go to!
Jimmy Yagi’s Basketball Clinic comes back to Kaua‘i on Saturday, January 8.
The county of Kaua‘i Recreational Agency welcomes all youths, both boys and girls, as well as coaches to attend these free basketball clinics at the Raiderdome on the campus of Kaua‘i High School.
Yagi, along with top coaches from the Big Island and around the state have been coming to Kaua‘i for many years and it seems that the clinic gets better every year.
Yagi is the legendary Hawai‘i Hall of Fame coach and former UH-Hilo Vulcan Basketball coach.
All participants should wear basketball attire and if you plan on bringing a basketball, please have it marked with your name on it.
Refreshments and snacks will be served after the clinic.
Clinic one will start at 8:30 a.m., with registration for youths 9-13.
Then from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., the 9-13 year old age group will take the court to learn the fundamentals of basketball from Yagi and his staff.
At about 1:15 p.m., registration for youths 14-18 will take place.
Then about 15 minutes later until 4 p.m., the 14-18 year old age group will hit the hardwood for some action.
The coaches clinic will run from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., featuring coaches from around the island, both youth and high school.
Yagi comes to Kaua‘i once a year to conduct a basketball clinic for island hoopsters, coaches, and officials.
Parents are also encouraged to attend this once-a-year clinic.
