Carl Gaber of Haena, Kauai died at the age of 56 doing what he loved, body surfing, at Pine Trees on Friday, Nov. 26, 2004.
An electrical contractor by trade, he owned and operated Tradewind Electric. A 22-year Kauai resident, Carl was born and raised on the Mainland where he lived in New York, New Jersey and Florida before coming to Hawai‘i. Carl touched so many lives; he was a good and thoughtful friend and will be missed terribly.
He is survived by his sister Claudia Van Raamsdonk and her husband Robert, two nieces Nicole and Daniell and one nephew, Robert as well as many other dear family members and friends in New Jersey and Gainesville, Florida.
He was preceded in death by his father David Gaber and mother Joanne Gaber. On Kaua‘i he is survived by a lot of dear friends and acquaintances. All are invited to celebrate Carl’s life at a memorial on Sunday, December 5 at Carl’s property, 7146 Alamihi Road, Haena (Alamihi is just before The Hanalei Colony Resort) at 3 pm. It will be a pot luck/BYOB.
