It’s that time of year again, as golf’s greatest event, the PGA Grand Slam makes its annual stay at the Po‘ipu Bay Golf Course and Hyatt Regency Kaua‘i Resort and Spa for three days from Nov. 22-24.
From 1999 to 2002, the PGA Grand Slam of Golf was contested during Thanksgiving week and was conducted for the first time in early December in 2003.
The PGA Grand Slam of Golf, which brings together the winners of the year’s four major championships, was originally scheduled for Dec. 3-4 this year.
The event carries a $1 million purse and is televised by TNT. This year’s competitors are Masters champ Phil Mickelson, U.S. Open champ Retief Goosen, British Open champ Todd Hamilton, and PGA champ Vijay Singh in a two-day, 36-hole stroke-play event.
Po‘ipu Bay Golf Course and the Hyatt Regency Kaua‘i Resort and Spa marks its 11th consecutive year in hosting the winners of the Masters, U.S. Open, British Open, and PGA Championship.
The ‘Slam’ will be televised to some 88 million U.S. homes by TNT, and to more than 100 countries worldwide.
Tickets to the PGA Grand Slam of Golf are available to purchase at 1-800-PGA-TCKT (742-8258), or online at www.PGA.com.
