Antonio Acevedo, 61, of Lihu‘e, pleaded not guilty to second- degree, attempted-murder charges yesterday after an alleged stabbing in Nawiliwili July 15.
Appearing in Circuit Court in Lihu‘e yesterday in an orange prison jumper, Acevedo was quiet as his lawyer, public defender James Itamura, waived reading of the charges and pleaded not guilty.
The charges stem from an incident on July 15, when Kaua‘i Police Department officers, responding to an unrelated complaint, were motioned over behind the Anchor Cove Shopping Center and found a 48-year-old man who was stabbed in the chest, police officials said.
