Edie Hafdahl, the Kaua‘i Visitors Bureau’s director of sales and marketing and self-proclaimed “road warrior” because of all the time she spends abroad promoting tourism to Kaua‘i, will be in New York City tomorrow, Thursday, July 29, to accept the Travel + Leisure magazine award naming Kaua‘i as the second- favorite island in the world among the magazine’s readers.
Kaua‘i was one of three Hawaiian islands named “World’s Best” islands for 2004 by Travel + Leisure readers in the magazine’s annual readers’ poll. Bali was first, Kaua‘i second (from fifth in 2003), Maui third (from sixth last year), and the Big Island fifth (from seventh in 2003). Sue Kanoho, executive director of the Kaua‘i Visitors Bureau, credits a real team effort for Kaua‘i’s improved placement.
