Chiyoko Taba Yamauchi
Chiyoko Taba Yamauchi of Kalaheo, died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on June 9, 2004, at the age of 95.
Born in Okinawa, she was a vegetable farmer.
She is survived by son, Sam (Loretta) Yamauchi of Los Angeles, CA.; daughter, Mildred (Clyde) Kawamoto of Kaimuki, O‘ahu; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.
Private services for family and close friends will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, June 23, 2004 at Kalaheo Missionary Church.
Arrangements are being handled by Garden Island Mortuary, Ltd.
Iluminada Oamil Pasol
Iluminada Oamil Pasol of Kekaha died June 5, 2004, at Queen’s Medical Center at the age of 66.
Born July 29, 1937, in Paoay, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, she retired as a laundry attendant for Up-to-Date Cleaners.
She is survived by her husband, Sulpicio Curammeng Pasol of Kekaha; one daughter, Zaida (Peter) Lahip, of ‘Ele‘ele Nani; four grandsons, Zaldy, Alden Jay, Ariel Anthony and Peterson, all of ‘Ele‘ele Nani; one sister, Rosita Oamil Buduan of the Philippines; brother-in-law, Federico Buduan of ‘Ele‘ele Nani; special niece, Elsie (Renee) Pasol of Kekaha; numerous nephews and nieces.
Friends and relatives may visit with the family from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 19, at St. Theresa’s Church, Kekaha. Mass will be officiated by Father Napoleon Andrews at 10:30 a.m., followed by burial at Hanapepe Public Cemetery.
Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary.
Lorenza Dureg
Lorenza Dureg of ‘Ele‘ele, died June 7, 2004, at her home at the age of 98.
Born Aug. 18, 1905, in Bangui Ilocos Norte, Philippines, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by one daughter: Marina (Jimmy) Makua of ‘Ele‘ele; three sons: Elisio (Gerry) Dureg of O‘ahu, Jack E. Dureg of O‘ahu, Audwin (Lisa) Dureg of ‘Ele‘ele; 16 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.
Friends may call from 8 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. Saturday, June 19, at St. John’s Episcopal Church in ‘Ele‘ele where services will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Hanapepe Public Cemetery.

Hidenori ‘Bobby’ Kure
Hidenori “Bobby” Kure of Kapa‘a, died at Wilcox Hospital on June 14, 2004 at the age of 87.
Born in Koloa on April 18, 1917, he was a power plant technician with Kauai Electric.
He is survived by wife, Helen H. Kure; three sons, Robert H. Kure of Honolulu, O‘ ahu, Karl K. (June) Kure of Fresno, CA., and Keith H. (Leanne) Kure of Torrance, Calif.; three grandchildren; one sister, Chiyoko (Shizuo) Kaneshige of Koloa. Funeral service officiated by Rev. Akiya will be held at 4 p.m., Saturday, June 19, at the Kapaa Jodo Mission. Arrangements are being handled by Garden Island Mortuary, Ltd.
