Hilo, Hawaii – Former Waimea High School baseball standout, Kaliko Oligo earned second-team Division I All-Independent League honors while David Chu was an honorable mention. Oligo, a senior from Kekaha, led the University of Hawai‘i at Hilo with a .335 batting average and 15 stolen bases. Of his 53 hits, he had 10 doubles and four triples. He scored 23 runs.
Also earning second-team Division I All-Independent League honors was Johnny Dudoit, a junior from Kaunakakai, Molokai, led the team with 35 RBI. He had a .430 slugging percentage, 41 hits, 19 runs scored and four homeruns. Dudoit went through 39 games without committing an error at first base and committed only two errors while playing third base.
Chu, a sophomore from Honolulu, was third on the team with a .299 batting average and 12 stolen bases. Chu was also an all-academic and all-tournament Independent League selection.
