Christmas is reflected in many ways on Kaua’i, from Nativity scenes in front of churches and homes that tell the story of the birth of Jesus Christ, the namesake of the holiday, to festive Santa Clauses and bright Christmas lights in stores and homes, to distinctive seasonal signs in fields and yards.
In particular, what’s known as Christmas daisies are in bloom and the wintertime sugar cane tassles that give the verdant fields of cane a wheat field look.
Christmas is also a time to look back for many, a time when families gather together on Kaua’i from the Mainland and foreign countries, some visiting family back on their home island, and some as visitors enjoying the warm weather of the island over the Holiday season.
